The chain opened this, its 200th store on October 22 over 6000 sq ft of Birmingham's prime New Street shopping area and has designed it to be the first true destination store for gamers. As well as dedicated Nintendo and Microsoft areas there is a mobile phone gaming section and a huge merchandising area dedicated to video games lifestyle products including models, action figures, trading cards, posters, accessories and of course clothing. Fitting with Joystick Junkies classic games inspired designs there is also a retro area showcasing the best in gaming through the decades since Pong on the Atari 2600 and the ZX81.
Andrew MacDougall, sales director for Joystick Junkies commented, "this is a real retail innovation. For years US video game outlets have known lifestyle gaming products like clothing, action figures and posters have delivered consistent sales and it's great to see that Gamestation are prepared to try something new."
Gamestation have selected a range of Joystick Junkies clothing which is drawn from the new Autumn collection available to view at www.joystickjunkies.com/store . The range features new colours, bigger bolder designs and even better shirt quality all for the same £19.99 retail price.
