STOCKHOLM and VENICE, FL, JULY 9, 2024 — Following the successful graduation from App Lab and full deployment on the Meta Quest Store earlier this year, Beyond Frames Entertainment and Combat Waffle Studios are continuing their joint operation to provide live-service updates for the top-selling VR extraction shooter Ghosts of Tabor with new details about the game’s Summer 2024 Roadmap and updates related to its upcoming launch on PlayStation VR2.

EASTWOOD WEAPON PACK DLC COMING JULY 31

Following months of teases, Ghosts of Tabor will be going to the wild west on July 31 with the launch of the game’s Eastwood Weapon Pack DLC. Available for $4.99, the Eastwood Weapon Pack will contain four new firearms and a hat straight out of the Wild West.

  • 1872 Colt single action army "Peacemaker" that shoots .45 bullets

  • 1883 sawed off double barrel "Rebel" 12 gauge shotgun with a full buttstock

  • 1883 sawed off double barrel "El Dorado” 12 gauge shotgun with a pistol grip that fits in your pistol holster

  • 1894 Marlin lever-action rifle "Rowdy" brought to modern standards with picatinny rails and bandoliers on the barrel and stock of the firearm

  • The Gambler - A Cowboy Hat to embrace the theme

July 31 will see a number of notable free additions to the game as well, including graphical improvements on the Meta Quest 3, squad voice chat, and a Golden Luty as a wipe reward.

DECLASSIFIED FOR THE FIRST TIME

In June 2024, Beyond Frames Entertainment and Combat Waffle recruited elite troops from around the globe for a real-world Ghosts of Tabor experience at an undisclosed location in the United Kingdom. Taken deep into a bunker, those in attendance had to take up real weapons (with film-safe modifications) to defend themselves against an unexpected incursion of enemy units. Footage of the event was captured by war correspondents in the field, and has been declassified for public engagement starting today [YouTube].

“Ghosts of Tabor thrives on its realism, from tense combat situations right down to the unique loading and handling of every weapon,” said Callum Ayers, Senior Marketing Manager, Beyond Frames Entertainment. “When coming up with an event that could celebrate Ghosts of Tabor with some of the best known names in our community, we knew we needed to build something that matched. Few things are quite as intense as keeping your whole squad alive and making it to an extraction point – but if the reaction of the community on-site was any indication, the real world Ghosts of Tabor experience nailed it.”

The event also included a live Q&A with media and influencers in attendance, where Combat Waffle Studios CEO Scott Albright answered questions about Ghosts of Tabor from both a moderator and the audience, revealing fresh insights about both the game’s creation and where it’s going next – including questions about the game’s upcoming release on PlayStation VR2.

POPPING OFF ON PLAYSTATION VR2 THIS YEAR

“We know everyone is just as excited as we are to jump into Ghosts of Tabor on PS VR2, and we’re almost there,” said Albright. “Our partners at VR Monkey are working to take advantage of everything the headset has to offer that makes sense for our players. We’re confident that Ghosts of Tabor will be in the hands of PlayStation gamers in just a few more months.”

Starting today, PlayStation VR2 users interested in Ghosts of Tabor can wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store.
