Gotcha Gotcha Games Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Makoto Narita), a subsidiary of KADOKAWA Corporation, is proud to announce the execution of an MOU outlining plans for a strategic partnership with W4 Games, a company that provides products and services for developers that use the Godot Engine.  Based on this agreement, Gotcha Gotcha Games will host a "Godot Engine Supported by W4 Games" exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2024, which will be held from Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Pref.


Purpose of the Strategic Partnership

 
It is the intention of the  Gotcha Gotcha Games and W4 Games that  Gotcha Gotcha Games will support the marketing and promotional activities at Tokyo Games Show 2024 as part of plans to address the Japanese market for  W4 Games' products which have been created to enhance development of games in Godot Engine : “W4 Consoles” for porting Godot Engine games to games consoles, and the "W4 Cloud, a product which will simplify the creation of multi-player games".  Additionally, Gotcha Gotcha Games and W4 Games intend to integrate the "W4 Consoles" product into "ACTION GAME MAKER," allowing the games developed with ACTION GAME MAKER to be ported to multiple consoles easily.

Exhibition at Tokyo Game Show 2024

 
From September 26 (Thursday) until September 29 (Sunday), 2024, Gotcha Gotcha Games will showcase the "Godot Engine Supported by W4 Games" exhibit at their booth (Hall 9, Indie Game Area, 09-W50) during the Tokyo Game Show 2024, held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Pref. The exhibit will feature a playable demo of Godot, along with introductions to W4 Games' "W4 Consoles" and "W4 Cloud" services. Additionally, a demo project of the latest installment in the Maker series, "ACTION GAME MAKER," which uses Godot as its base engine, will be displayed. We warmly welcome everyone to visit our booth.


About W4 Games

 
W4 Games was established in Ireland in 2021 by four key members: Godot veteran Juan Linietsky, Rémi Verschelde, Fabio Alessandrelli, and entrepreneur Nicola Farronato, with the mission of strengthening the ecosystem of the open-source Godot engine by providing the commercial products and services necessary for game developers.

The company plans to release "W4 Consoles," middleware for porting Godot projects to Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S™, and PlayStation®5 in October 2024. Additionally, they are developing "W4 Cloud," an infrastructure that combines a framework for adding multiplayer features such as player management and matchmaking to Godot projects, along with server hosting services.
