September 18, 2024 - Having conquered videogames, Hooded Horse is now turning its eye to another major world problem – traffic. Thankfully, Slovakian studio CyberStorm has the solution with its upcoming sandbox simulation game Junxions, which is the latest to join the Hooded Horse portfolio.
Due to release into early access next year, Junxions challenges players to build a traffic system the likes of which nobody has ever seen before. Whether it’s with road or rail, build the intersection of everyone’s dreams (or worst nightmares) and test it out using the game’s powerful adaptive AI.
A comprehensive suite of tools will put other traffic engineers to shame. Work through hand-crafted challenges, build a monument to the traffic gods in the sandbox mode, or, if one’s creativity is struggling, import a real-world neighborhood and fix all of those issues instead!
Key features of Junxions include:
A challenge mode and a sandbox creative mode.
Make full use of the sandbox and create a traffic system from scratch, or import real map data to recreate locations from around the world and remake them!
Detailed terrain manipulation, including adding in rivers and lakes for extra logistical challenges.
Control intersections down to the minute details, from rights of way, traffic light phases, and pedestrian islands.
Decorate intersections with a variety of different surfaces and install things like noise-canceling barriers or street lamps.
Comprehensive tutorials to teach everything from the basics to the most advanced tools.
Steam Workshop integration so players can share creations with others.
“I believe partnering with Hooded Horse will unlock the full potential of Junxions and make it the ultimate traffic simulation game,” says Lead Developer Thomas Wagner. “Together, we'll deliver Junxions to more players than ever and, more importantly, continue working on our dream of developing the perfect city simulation game.”
"CyberStorm showed us how Junxions can load up data of real-world cities and then build on top of them as we like,” says Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “The simulation’s complexity is astounding, and the game truly aims to create the ultimate traffic management experience. We wanted to help bring this dream to life.”
The game will be localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Junxions will release on PC via Steam in 2025. A press kit is available.
