Indie game developer mixel has released “IF-Imaginary Friends-,” a PC adventure game with a storybook and painting-like atmosphere featuring unique imaginary friends, on itch.io on September 12, 2024.

The main character, a young boy named Croqui, is reunited with his imaginary friends he created in his infancy due to a mental regression caused by the birth of his younger sister. Fearing that he will be forgotten again, the friends try to trap him in their imaginary world by playing games with him! You are Croqui and you will win the game with your friends.

For the textures of the characters and stages, we use drawing materials such as colored pencils and crayons, and craft materials such as thread and clay origami. This has the effect of creating a worldview like a child's fantasy, which is the theme of the project.

Although the adventure element of the game is mainly about finding imaginary friends, the mini-games with the four hidden imaginary friends offer another genre of games, such as shooting and puzzles.
