Outsource Media | LONDON, UK. Outsource Media, "Bollocks!" was the first word from Mark Estdale at the 2004 TIGA keynote conference on outsourcing/offshoring in Leeds last Friday. Mark, managing director of Outsource Media the specialist audio, test and localisation company challenged the suggestion from fellow outsourcing panel member that if an outsourcing company is given poor assets the results would also be poor.
"As specialist outsourcing companies, it is our responsibility to ensure that our clients provide the necessary assets to assure quality results" said Mark, "...This is basic. Whatever service we provide, whether voice production, testing or with localisation our clients use us for our expertise and they expect us to make a positive impact on their productions."
The TIGA outsourcing survey conducted by Rick and Nick Gibson showed that more than 60% of respondents have outsourced in the past and 95% stated their intention to do so in the near future. Outsourcing is growing and TIGA in their commitment to best practise are drawing up a draft best practise guide on the do's and don'ts of outsourcing which will be refined for inclusion in the TIGA best practice handbook.
