Game Industry Conference (GIC) :

Poznan, Poland, 06.08.2024 – The Game Industry Conference (GIC), one of the largest B2B and developer gaming conferences in Europe, once again invites speakers to Poznań, Poland. GIC’24 will take place from October 24th to 27th, running concurrently with the Poznań Game Arena (PGA). This year, GIC'24 will expand the Women in Games Breakfast into a full Women in Games Day and introduce the HowToMultiplayer Dev Summit, an exciting new side event. Potential speakers are encouraged to submit their presentations and register for the conference here.

The first speakers announced for the Game Industry Conference include David Santiago (Principal Technical Artist at Insomniac Games), André Berg Bragason (Lead VFX Artist at CCP Games), Martha Weiss (senior character concept artist at io interactive), and Sami Mylly (Senior Game Programmer at Fingersoft), and Marcin Undak (Lead Engine Programmer of Diablo IV) who will deliver lectures and workshops. Currently, the conference is accepting more speaker applications through the submission form.

The GIC will be held in Poznań, Poland, from October 24th to 27th, with the PGA running in parallel from October 24th to 27th. The conference will feature nearly a dozen networking events and parties, captivating talks, workshops, roundtables, the Central Eastern Europe Game Awards ceremony (CEEGA), Geek Careers (with 24 companies recruiting at Geek Careers '23), the GRIP meeting system, the Gamedev Investment Forum, the VR Summit, the GIC Legal Summit, and much more. GIC Team ensures that this year's edition will show enormous growth with new and expanded side-events, summits, and elements of the program… and shows some examples already.

GIC'24 will expand the Women in Games Breakfast to an entire Women in Games Day, building on last year's success where the breakfast consisted of three roundtables and over 150 game industry professionals attending, almost exceeding the capacity. The 2024 program will span from breakfast at 10:00 in the morning to the party at 20:00 and consist of over a dozen roundtables, lectures, panels, workshops, mentoring, and consultant options, all led by the industry's best specialists. The topics to be covered will include leadership, project management, female-led enterprises, or discussing the situation of women in gamedev in Poland and Europe. Workshops will cover mentoring and self-care, including stress, impostor syndrome, and self-leadership.

The new, just-announced, side-event for GIC '24 will be the "HowToMultiplayer Dev Summit".

The Summit is organized in partnership with Timothee Engel, a well-known multiplayer dev evangelist, and is part of an extensive multiplayer educational effort.

The content quality will be ensured by the summit’s advisory board, consisting of Johannes Ebner (Technical Project Manager at Xbox and the organizer of GodotCon '23), Jane Skullman (executive producer at Star Stables), David Oneill (Co-Founder and CTO of SuperNimbus), and Chris Proctor (Combat Area Design Lead on Destiny 2 at Bungie).

The first edition of the HTM Dev Summit will consist of one day of lectures, panels, and, of course, GIC's famous roundtables led by key speakers and advisors. The agenda will enable attending developers and studios to immediately dive into the thick of multiplayer game development, as well as to trying out new concepts based on proven patterns.

All the programs rely on invited speakers and panelists but are also open to all submissions. More information about the Call for Speakers is available here

GIC is also not slowing down with the Business side of the event. The conference team declares to have already 27 confirmed exhibitors in the B2B area, which sets a new record for the timeframe of three months before the event itself.
