NovaLogic | London, UK (November 8th, 2004) - Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic, Ltd. is delighted to announce that the groundbreaking multiplayer FPS title Joint Ops: Typhoon Rising has received a runners-up place at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Joint Ops received the runner-up place in the Game of the Year (Editor's Choice) Award, at the prestigious event organised by Future Publishing last week, narrowly missing out to Konami's popular Pro Evolution Soccer 4.
Paul Rebhan, General Manager for NovaLogic Ltd commented: 'We are absolutely delighted to have received this recognition for Joint Ops from well-respected members of the gaming industry. NovaLogic constantly strive to lead in their field by releasing exciting and groundbreaking, multiplayer FPS titles and Joint Ops has proved that it is no exception!'
Joint Ops is the only FPS to allow players to participate in mammoth 150 player battles with no subscription fee, more than double the player hosting capability of any other FPS. Incorporating maps of up to 50 km sq for large-scale conflict, Joint Ops also fully supports squad play with its smaller scale squad maps, that provide a concentrated cluster of respawn battle points, to provide excellent close quarter battle environments. Along with a full 24-hour day/night cycle and over 29 different land, sea and air vehicles to control, Joint Ops represents a huge leap forward for online multiplayer FPS games.
Joint Ops: Typhoon Rising (PC CD ROM) is in stores now and the expansion pack Joint Ops: Escalation will be available on Nov 26h 2004 for PC. To find out more visit the official game web site at www.jointopsthegame.com.
