PRESS RELEASE
In the future, computer games won't be controlled by keyboards and joysticks. To get past the tricky puzzles it won't be about how quick you can tap your keys or press FIRE! In the future, games will be able to tell how tired you're feeling, how hard you're breathing, how focussed you are - they'll only let you win if you're physically and mentally in-tune to the challenges they set you... In the future, games won't teach you hand-eye co-ordination, they'll teach you a wealth of skills to co-ordinate your body's vital functions, helping you live a stress free and relaxed life, all through simply playing... The future is now...
Fresh out of the USA, Journey To Wild Divine is a revolutionary game changing the way thousands of people interact with their computers using cutting edge Biofeedback technology. Biofeedback is scientifically proven to have a powerful, positive effect on your emotional and physical wellbeing - by teaching you to alter your brain activity, blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate other bodily functions vital to your health.
Through the Journey To Wild Divine game, the player is introduced to techniques such as meditation, yogic breathing and visualisation, in a way never seen before. The game's innovative hardware platform measures skin conductance level and heart rate variability through three sensors gently attached to the fingers. At various points in the game you use the biofeedback equipment to progress through challenges set to you by the game's characters who help you learn to control your body's reactions. By increasing, decreasing or synchronizing body rhythms, through techniques the characters will teach you - like the Heart Breath - you'll quickly learn to master the 'events' and progress in the game. The computer responds instantly to your biological reactions and the game instantly changes accordingly as if you're physically interacting with it!
The brainchild of PhD Biomedical engineer Kurt Smith and animator/developer Corwin Bell, the game is designed to give hours of fun as well as providing users with a therapeutic tool perfect for enhancing the experience of everyday life.
"It seems to me that we've lost the inner technology-the mystical mind/body connection-that was known to the ancient sages and shamans (or yogis)," says Bell, "I've always wanted to find a way to re-integrate those teachings into our daily lives. That's what we tried to do with Wild Divine. Users can actually experience mystical states of being through their own mind-body control. In the game it looks like magic, and it is-but magic of the gamer's own making".
Journey To Wild Divine is available in the UK through www.magitam.co.uk

DEEPAK CHOPRA, M.D., AND THE WILD DIVINE PROJECT COLLABORATE ON NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Combining Spirituality with Technology, The Journey to Wild Divine Delivers Complete Mind and Body Wellness in an Entertaining Computer Game Package
The Wild Divine Project, creators of transformational multi-media products, today announced a partnership with Deepak Chopra, M.D., to develop a trilogy of computer games focused on enhancing mind and body wellness.
The Journey to Wild Divine is the Wild Divine Project's first computer game, and the only game currently on the market offering a biofeedback component. Launched less than a year ago, The Journey to the Wild Divine helps players relax and relieve stress by turning breathing and meditation exercises into entertainment. Chopra has endorsed The Journey to Wild Divine and will incorporate his personal teachings into future offerings from The Wild Divine Project. A bonus CD-ROM including excerpts from Chopra's new book, The Book of Secrets, is an added bonus sold with all versions of The Journey.
Game two, titled The Wisdom Quest, builds on the initial lessons of game one. Through a powerful storyline, Chopra is featured in The Wisdom Quest as the guide, Rama, teaching deeper lessons about spirituality and how to apply them in every day life. Chopra's The Book of Secrets is highlighted as one of the sacred objects to be found at the end of the game. The Wisdom Quest package, which includes only software, will sell for roughly £25 and will be available in early 2005.
The third game in the Wild Divine trilogy, called Journey Into Healing, will be an immersion course with Chopra. Focusing on his complete mind-body-spirit teachings, the game will include lectures, lessons and interactive meditations using the Wild Divine biofeedback platform. A release date for the third game has not been determined.
"I believe there is a real need to combine the technology of biofeedback with innate healing abilities," said Chopra. "The Wild Divine trilogy of games will help people understand the mind-body connection and how a few concentrated minutes of deep breathing can have long-lasting health effects."
"Deepak Chopra's enthusiasm and spiritual vision have been instrumental in helping us develop products that offer a real solution to relieving stress and negativity from our systems," said Kurt Smith, founder of The Wild Divine Project. "We believe this partnership is one that we'll both benefit from, but more importantly, it's one that will bring new products to the market designed to improve everyone's overall health and wellbeing."
