SAN FRANCISCO – April 4, 2022 – Kongregate, a leading developer of mobile games and creator of the web-based gaming portal Kongregate.com, today announced several internal elevations to its executive leadership team. These appointments come as the company accelerates its fast growing blockchain gaming division -- focused on developing fun and innovative games on the chain. Additionally, the company plans to continue to invest in its highly successful first-party mobile gaming unit, who's flagship title Animation Throwdown recently celebrated reaching $100 million in lifetime revenue.
Joining Markus Lipp, Kongregate’s CEO, are Max Murphy, chief technology officer (CTO), Michelle Shaw, chief blockchain operations officer (CBOO) and Patrick Moran, chief product officer (CPO).
Max Murphy, CTO: Max Murphy joined Kongregate in 2014 leading DevOps, and has since held multiple senior management roles across engineering, and most recently serving as senior vice president of engineering. Today, as CTO, he oversees all technology functions and engineering resources for Kongregate’s blockchain gaming platform. Prior to Kongregate, he served in the office of the CTO for Elemental(Now AWS Elemental), as well as held senior consultancy roles at Burnside Digital and ELC.
Michelle Shaw, CBOO: A veteran interactive entertainment executive with more than 15 years of experience, Michelle joined Kongregate in 2016, overseeing marketing and user acquisition initiatives, and most recently serving as senior vice president of marketing. As CBOO, she leads day-to-day administrative and business functions for the company’s growing blockchain gaming platform. Previously, Michelle led marketing initiatives at Gameloft, Wikia, and IDG Entertainment.
Patrick Moran, CPO: With a career spanning more than 20 years in video games, Patrick Moran joined Kongregate in 2019 as general manager of the company’s legacy games publishing business, before becoming vice president of games. As CPO, he today leads strategic direction and execution for Kongregate’s mobile games first-party business. Prior to Kongregate, Patrick held senior management roles at Amazon, MobilityWare, Disney Interactive Studios and Bioware, among others.
