Gaijin Entertainment announces that the Air Battles open beta test has started in the military online action game War Thunder Mobile. Previously the game featured close air support in naval and ground battles, but now the game has a full-fledged aerial tech tree and an air-focused game mode

The aerial tech tree in War Thunder Mobile currently lists 100 legendary fighters, attack aircraft and bombers, the appearance and capabilities of which correspond to historical documents. Right now the game features aircraft from the USA, Germany and the USSR air forces (for example, the P-51 Mustang, Messerschmitt Bf 109, La-5), with more nations coming later. Players can progress through several nations' tech trees at once in parallel, following the paths they like. An alternative way to immediately get a top aircraft is through blueprints that are issued for participating in game events. The first such event starts in early October.

War Thunder Mobile runs on the same Dagor engine as War Thunder for desktop platforms. This allows the developers team to quickly implement the latest graphics technologies - such as support for ray tracing on new iPhones (starting with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max) and iPad. Owners of iPhone 16 devices can enjoy advanced lighting in War Thunder Mobile air battles from day one.
