Kuju | 28th January 2005. Brighton, W. Sussex, UK. Kuju Entertainment's (AIM: KUJ) today announced the expansion and specialisation of its most recently established Brighton Studio.
The studio is to become the home of the Kuju Lifestyle group, specialising in this rapidly growing area of game genres for the mass market. Lifestyle games have carved a lucrative niche in the broadening videogame demographic with dancing, singing and fitness proving especially popular and successful with players of all ages.
With development of another, as yet unannounced but signed, lifestyle game already underway the Brighton studio is actively recruiting designers, programmers and artists.
With 32 staff now employed, and a further 8 being actively sought, the studio has just completed a move into a significantly larger space within the existing building.
Studio Manager Ed Daly commented, "It's been a great start for the studio and the team are all looking forward to what is set to be a very busy 2005. We can't talk about our new titles publicly yet but we would encourage talented staff from all development disciplines to get in touch as we have some very exciting projects in the pipeline."
Ian Baverstock, Business Development Director of Kuju Entertainment added, 'Lifestyle games appeal to traditional game players but more importantly they also appeal to a much wider audience. For games to become truly mass-market we have to develop titles which appeal to the many different sectors of our possible audience just like every other form of entertainment.
