Gamer TV | Deftly avoiding airborne vomit and keeping arms firmly tucked in the car, Gamer.tv (www.gamer.tv) today announced the signing of a white-knuckle agreement with Atari to produce a TV commercial for the November 5th launch of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for PC.
Set in Gamer.tv's own state-of-the-art 2000 square foot TV studio, the Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 TV commercial was produced by Luke Bradford and features a full size rollercoaster track designed to propel both a hapless advertising hero and a Gamer.tv camera crew towards each other at high speed. The result is pure screen adrenaline and adds to an impressive line-up of TV commercials already directed by Luke, including a certain memorable ad for Sony EyeToy Groove.
The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise has notched up an awe-inspiring 7.4 million sales worldwide since launch. As part of the campaign preceding the release of RollercoasterTycoon 3, and following a search for inspirational ideas that would deliver the loop-de-loop exhilaration of the game, Atari Brand Manager Lisa Humphries appointed Gamer.tv to produce the commercial.
"Having already made the behind-the-scenes trailer, Gamer.tv was asked to pitch for the TV ad, and its concept proved to have the winning formula," commented Lisa. "It was very refreshing to see an idea that effectively communicated the thrill of riding your coasters without relying solely on gameplay footage."
