Magic awakens in  Pioneers of Pagonia!

Ingelheim near Frankfurt, Germany – November 21st, 2024 – Magic is coming to the world of Pioneers of Pagonia, the medieval-fantasy city builder with the biggest “Wuselfaktor” of all time by award-winning German studio Envision Entertainment. In the fourth and most extensive update to date since its release into Early Access, the Malthorns present all pioneers with completely new challenges. Numerous magical combat units, expanded production chains, and new buildings such as the gem mine and the innovative treasure hunter are waiting - in addition, it will be much easier and quicker for new pioneers to familiarize themselves with the world of Pagonia with tutorial videos and explanations of important game mechanics. To celebrate the Magic update, Pioneers of Pagonia is available for the first time with a 20% discount on Steam.

New enemies, Malthorns, are emerging in Pagonia to summon waves of demons through their cursed portals while players now have access to new magical units to remove the curses. Warlocks and sorceresses need special weapons and equipment to face the Malthorns. New resources, building types, units and production chains are available, which must be used strategically and skillfully. This opens a further tactical component that provides even more excitement, especially for strategy experts.
 
Among the most important new features is the overhaul of the combat system, which was requested by the community. Instead of the previous 1v1 dueling system, enemies can now be attacked by multiple units, which increases the chance of victory. This change has an impact on the general combat strategy, as attacks in large groups are rewarded and reduce potential losses for weaker units. The combat values of all units have also been adjusted as part of this change.
 
Monumental buildings can now be erected anywhere by the player and have new special abilities. The Monument of Knowledge can summon helpful ancestors who can quickly mine resources or repel dangerous attackers. The monumental Light Spire, a gigantic lighthouse, provides early warning of attacks and allows players to explore distant locations.
 
With the Magic Update, treasure hunters can now go on the hunt for hidden riches, secret arsenals and lost artifacts in the world of Pagonia. The male treasure hunter has been voiced by the German strategy expert Maurice Weber, while American streamer and presenter Ovilee May lends her voice to the female treasure hunter. Players can also use the menu to select their favourites for specific units – including American internet star SodaPoppin and German content creators Gronkh and Hand of Blood.
 
The Magic update for Pioneers of Pagonia is the most extensive content update to date since its launch into Early Access. The one-year anniversary of the popular economy simulation is also coming up on December 13th, 2024, when the studio will announce its plans for the coming year.
