The developer and publisher behind 8 Ball Pool and Agar.io has announced its expansion in Portugal with the opening of its new studio in Taguspark – Knowledge City.

London, 23rd March 2022 – Miniclip, a world leader of market-defining mobile games titles, has announced the expansion of its global operations with the opening of a brand new studio in the Taguspark technology park in Lisbon, Portugal.
Following the start of its operations in 2010, which marked the company’s first step in its shift from web to mobile games, the opening marks Miniclip’s further expansion in Portugal. With a focus on hiring highly skilled talent over the last 11 years, Miniclip has doubled its number of employees in Portugal over the last three years, with the new studio allowing for an even greater expansion. The studio building can accommodate around 350 Miniclippers with the architecture of the building being designed by Openbook, Alphalink's project management and a project directed by DST.
Miniclip’s new studio in Taguspark will be one of the first buildings in Portugal to achieve the WELL and LEED certifications, providing Miniclippers with a top class collaborative space. The studio will be run on 100% electricity from sustainable sources and inclusive filtered water points available every 30 metres from each desk. Moreover, the studio will include a gym, wellness studio, massage room and soon, there will be an urban vegetable garden.

The opening of the studio in Taguspark demonstrates Miniclip’s development and growth ambitions in Portugal. With the ever growing nature of the games industry in Portugal, Miniclip continues to display investment in the local area with the mobile games publisher and developer set to hire for both in-studio roles and remote positions.
