Assemble Entertainment :

[Wiesbaden, Germany – May 28th, 2024] - Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Little Knight Games are thrilled to announce that Moroccan-inspired Metroidvania Mira and the Legend of the Djinns will be getting a demo alongside June Next Fest. The developers are eager to gather player feedback and work with the community to shape the game’s production. The demo will be available until the end of June and players can look forward to Mira weaving some magic during June Next Fest, which runs from June 10th - 17th. Get a fresh look at the game in the new trailer below!

The Steam demo will incorporate the Desert and Ruins stages, showing off some of the game’s puzzles, along with various combat moves such as the dash and projectile attacks. Along the way you’ll find out more about Mira’s enthralling lore and backstory while progressing through the demo.

Mira and the Legend of the Djinns is a classic 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania, inspired by Moroccan culture and spiritual traditions. In it, you’ll explore and fight various enemies, as well as discover new tools, items, and abilities while progressing in the game. The combat system emphasizes fluidity and experimentation, and allows you to switch between weapons, and elemental modes on the fly. Thanks to its blisteringly fast pace, Mira will keep you on your toes as you mow down enemies across its gorgeous stages.

You’ll have access to four different weapons, each one tied to one of the four Primal Elements that represent the powers and nature of Djinns: Solar, Celestial, Infernal, and Lunar. As you unlock new abilities, you’re encouraged to defeat enemies in style. There’s no shortage of new moves to unlock, giving you plenty of ways to take down your foes.

Not every ancient treasure belongs in a museum, as treasure hunter Yuba discovers within the debris of the kingdom of Fallen Amazgesh. There, Yuba meets Mira the Djinn, a race long lost to the world of man. Throughout the adventure, the pair team up together to escape the ruins and discover Mira’s lost memories.

Features:

  • Sprawling Map: Guide Yuba and Mira across a massive Metroidvania map filled with secrets, rewards, and battles around every corner.

  • A Unique Inspiration: The development team wants to express and celebrate Moroccan culture and mythos through a game steeped in their environment.

  • Questions and Answers: Start a compelling narrative with more questions than answers, but slowly begin uncovering the mysteries of the Fallen Amazgesh and Mira’s ties to the ruined world.

  • Fight to the End: An extensive action combat system gives players full control to dazzle their enemies and leave them bewildered.

Mira and the Legend of the Djinns is coming to Steam later this year and players can wishlist the game now ahead of Next Fest. For additional information, follow Assemble Entertainment on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Steam, and join the official Assemble Discord server.
