Nexon to Establish MINTROCKET Corporation

TOKYO – September 11, 2024 – NEXON Co., Ltd. (Nexon) (3659.TO), a global leader in online games, will establish its MINTROCKET studio as a corporation. The new corporation will expand the MINTROCKET brand and reputation for rapid development of highly innovative games.

The new structure reflects MINTROCKET’s fresh approach to developing highly-engaging small-scale games for global audiences – a contrast to Nexon’s established expertise in large scale games. This is expected to strengthen MINTROCKET’s independent culture with faster decision making and simplified business procedures. MINTROCKET, a new corporation, will be a 100% subsidiary of Nexon Korea, and Jaeho Hwang, head of MINTROCKET division, has been nominated as its first CEO.

MINTROCKET – a sub brand of Nexon launched in 2022 with an approach to game development that focuses on speed, creativity and fun. DAVE THE DIVER, the first game from MINTROCKET released in 2023, quickly became a global hit, surpassing four million cumulative sales, and winning the design category of the BAFTA Game Awards 2024. DAVE THE DIVER maintains an "overwhelmingly positive" rating on Steam – the highest rating on the platform.
