Out of the Blue Games :
August 1st, Spain - There are very few who can resist the call of the sea. And even fewer those who can resist the Call of Cthulhu. Out of the Blue Games, the acclaimed studio behind the hit video games Call of the Sea, American Arcadia and the upcoming The Vigilante Diaries, is proud to announce an agreement with publisher Shadowlands to develop a role-playing campaign that will serve as a prequel to the Call of the Sea. Shadowlands has a strong track record in publishing Call of Cthulhu adventures, such as Bullskin, whose latest release is “Scions of the Dark Goddess”.
From the collaboration between the two companies comes Call of the Sea: The Everhart Expedition, a campaign that will tell the story prior to the videogame and will allow us to get into the shoes of Harry Everhart and his crew, in search of the cure for the mysterious illness that affects his wife Norah. And, of course, we will end up on a strange Pacific island located east of Tahiti, full of puzzles, dangers and secrets that not everyone is likely to survive. As in every tabletop role-playing game adventure, players' decisions will affect the story, and may change the plot of the video game. There will be references and nods to Call of the Sea, but it is not necessary to have played the videogame to enjoy the role-playing campaign.
Call of the Sea: The Everhart Expedition is licensed by Chaosium and will be published as an official supplement to The Call of Cthulhu, one of the world's most played role-playing games and one of the inspirations for the original video game.It will be released in the first half of 2025 through a crowdfunding platform, offering the opportunity to pre-order the books and game aids at a special price.

After the launch of their first title - the BAFTA nominee Call of the Sea-, and its virtual reality version Call of the Sea VR for Meta Quest, the studio launched American Arcadia in 2023. They’re currently developing The Vigilante Diaries, the first title of their narrative anthology An Out of the Blue Story.
