This one-of-a-kind pinball adventure game uniquely combines the thrill of classic pinball with the excitement of platforming, puzzles, and adventure. Join the intrepid little pinball called Pip as they venture through a colorful and mysterious spire, uncovering its secrets with every flip and shot.

When a mysterious spire suddenly appears, our brave hero Pip, in true fantasy style, takes the plunge to explore its depths and uncover its secrets. Players must guide Pip through the spire's many chambers using flippers and plungers. Rather than chasing high scores, players are challenged to use their platforming and puzzle-solving skills.  Coupled with a suite of special abilities, this approach blends the excitement of pinball with the strategy and exploration of adventure games.

Tom Voros, the solo developer behind Pinball Spire, drew inspiration from his love of old-school action games, classic pinball video games, and the interconnected worlds of Metroidvania titles. This passion shines through in Pinball Spire, which features an interconnected world full of surprises, pathways, and curious contraptions. Adding to the game’s unique atmosphere is a soundtrack by Starling Tan. Her music draws on retro video games, blending them with a modern twist to create a soundscape that perfectly completes the game’s mysterious and adventurous feel. Tom elaborates on his vision for the game: 

"I wanted to combine the vertical structure of Kirby's Pinball Land, the action of classic Sonic games (including, but not limited to, Sonic Spinball!), and the atmosphere and interconnected worlds of Metroid and Castlevania games. My goal was to create a pinball game that takes players on a mysterious journey, and not just existing pinball fans, but also players who may be new to the genre.”

As players explore the spire, they’ll face new challenges that demand both skill and creativity to overcome. The game’s mana-powered abilities, such as Fireball for lighting dark chambers and Focus for making precise shots, introduce a range of gameplay possibilities. Players can also pause the game at any moment to use the Scouter, which allows them to survey the current chamber, identify interactable elements, and plan their approach. Pinball Spire is a unique pinballvania that defies easy classification.

Pinball Spire has already flipped its way into the hearts of fans at major events like PAX East, Gamescom, and PAX West earning rave reviews at the indie.io booth. During the most recent Steam Next Fest, it was clear: players couldn't get enough of Pip's thrilling adventure. With its unique mix of pinball action, platforming, and puzzle-solving, Pinball Spire has captivated players with its fresh take on classic gaming elements.

Apparition Games is an indie studio from Ontario, Canada, founded in 2011. Their debut project in game development was a Flash game called Pulse, which earned second place in Kongregate’s Project Eden: Experience the Music game competition. This laid the groundwork for Micron, which expanded on the concept of its predecessor.
