March 30, 2022 -
The independent solo developer Mark Pil is announcing his debut VR game, Increment. Increment is Mark’s attempt to bring to the metaverse something it truly deserves, a clicker. The result ends up somewhere between satire and an earnest meditation on what happens when players are tasked with the only thing that “matters”, making numbers increase.
In Increment, players will press buttons, pull levers, and use their bodies to achieve ever higher numbers in this VR game about increasing. There’s nothing “idle” about this game and its weird, colorful, reactive environments. Increment is an experimental, thought-provoking, hour-long incremental adventure.
Features
Active Incremental Gameplay
Use your body to make numbers go in the only direction that matters, up! Increment is an active, kinetic VR experience.
Tiny Motions, Big Results
Human-sized terminals control giant machines that leverage VR’s sense of scale and wonder.
A Complete VR Experience
Increment is an adventure that takes about an hour to play, and does not feature any sort of microtransactions or in-app purchases commonly found in the genre that inspired it.
About the Developer
Mark Pil is the sole developer of Increment. From violent, AAA FPS games to educational software, Mark’s career has run the gamut of digital media and the feelings it can evoke.
Increment is his attempt to combine the concepts of positive psychology, the raw fun of gaming, and the immersive power of VR to create an experience that should leave players feeling empowered for reasons they may not fully understand.
Increment will be released late 2022 on Steam for PCVR headsets.
