July 26 2024 – Switzerland-based SIRO Games is excited to announce the launch of its debut title, Wéko the Mask Gatherer, on Steam on July 26.

Wéko the Mask Gatherer is an open world 3D adventure-platformer that combines decades of inspiration with new features and design sensibilities, recreating the nostalgic wonder and excitement of exploration that defined the games of the ‘90s with a magical modern twist.

Calling on the colorful, evergreen charm of classic adventure-platformers and RPGs such as Sypro and Zelda, Wéko weaves relaxing puzzles, humorous side quests, and expansive environments to explore with skillful and engaging combat against formidable foes inspired by Dark Souls.

Faced with the malevolent influence of the seven primordial masks, each representing one of the seven deadly sins, Wéko the Gecko and his mustached robotic companion, Oz, must take an extraordinary journey through epic lands filled with mysterious secrets to find the masks and save the world.

To do this, Wéko will harness the power of more benevolent masks discovered throughout his quest, each offering new perks or abilities to aid the duo in their quest. These can enhance combat skills and provide new ways to navigate the world and unearth hidden items. Experiment with numerous combinations of masks and new weapons to unlock powerful builds and discover your own playstyle.

Core to Wéko the Mask Gatherer’s evocative spirit and style is SIRO’s dedication to its inspirations. Whether you’re exploring wistful, colorful towns bustling with charming characters, traversing bright and bold environments brought to life with touching melodies, or meeting the challenge of its fearsome boss fights, Wéko renews classic nostalgia with a rarefied modern aesthetic – a ‘cosy Souls-like’.

Wéko the Mask Gatherer is the first game from Geneva-based developers SIRO Games, led by Robin Haefeli and Simon Da Silva, after successfully Kickstarted early development in 2022, thanks to the generosity of the Wékommunity raising almost €30,000.

Wéko the Mask Gatherer is launching on PC via Steam on July 26 2024. For more information, review keys, and assets, contact Khai at [email protected].
