MELBOURNEOctober 03, 2024 - Featured as part of the Melbourne International Games Week on Steam, Barrel Smash Studios has just released a second free expansion “Demonlore” for Riftbound, taking the latest strategy rogue-lite game mode to the next level. Now you can choose from 6 heroes and take on the demon “Infernals” in new challenging Mini-boss battles.
 
With six Hero characters to choose from, each with unique starter kits and Elemental mastery, no two playthroughs will ever be the same. Adapt your elemental army for each of the ten runs available, encountering different themes of enemies, mutators and ‘Infernal’ mini-bosses.
 
Explore combinations of Fusion Reactions to deal damaging elemental effects to the enemy force. Level up your elemental’s damage, health, evasion and other attributes with the Veterancy system, uncovering higher level special attacks.
 
Prepare for your toughest battles and stock up on health and energy potions, time-delaying music box trinkets, battle-changing obliteration orbs and other consumables available at the Moonlight Market.
 
Along with new spells, new upgrades, new perks, new tactics and new enemy affixes, the Demonlore expansion will provide hours of gameplay for new and old Riftbound gamers.
 
Riftbound is localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

 
NEW FEATURES
 

  • : choose from 6 different characters, each with unique starter abilities and spells.

  • “Infernal” Mini-boss enemies: take down tough new ‘demon’ mini-bosses that advance down the lane, doing devastating damage to unprepared defenses.

  • Perk Mastery System: collect ‘blue’ gems after successfully completing runs to spend on new starting elemental perks, unlocking special battle effects.

  • Elemental Unit Veterancy: a new way to level up your elementals during battles. Defeat enemies to advance veterancy, allowing you to choose attack, defense and support improvements for your units. Reach higher levels to unlock special attack choices.

  • New run system: Make your way through 10 runs of different stage lengths and themes, each with varying enemies, modifiers and mutators. Collect keys to unlock the final stage to battle the ultimate Demon Lord.

  • Consumables bag: stock up on potions and trinkets at the Moonlight Market to turn the tide in challenging battles.

  • Fusion system: apply elemental runes on enemies using spells and elemental attacks to create fusion reactions that can deal unique effects to enemies and elementals.

  • New Tactics System: Take new tactic spells into battle (up to 4 for certain heroes) to change the way you play.

  • New Difficulty: for hardcore gamers, we’ve released a seventh difficulty level, Brutal. Will you survive this punishing mode and come out victorious in the end?

 
Riftbound still has the original campaign and endless survival modes available to play, as well as the Elemental Customization feature, where players can personalize their elemental army with hats, mustaches, ears, and beards, and see their creations in action during battle.
