Los Angeles, USA, 24 September 2024 | The wait is over! Indie developer Naughty Clogs invites players to dive into the thrilling world of Skyward Extraction. Now available on Steam in Early Access, players can experience the heart-pounding excitement of this light-horror co-op showcased in the newly released trailer.
A Journey Through the Storm
Set in the hauntingly beautiful world of Relencost, Skyward Extraction immerses players in a post-apocalyptic world shaped by ancient conflict. Above the clouds looms the Stormwall, a magical storm that creates a treacherous barrier, rendering the surface unlivable and forcing survivors to seek refuge above the cloud layer. Embark on this journey with friends to uncover the secrets of a forgotten civilization from the pre-war Relencost period.
Cooperative Extraction
This cooperative experience encourages players to band together to retrieve valuable ancient relics from the past. As a group of Stormtreaders, you’ll set sail in your airship, navigating deeper into a world dominated by the relentless storm. Work together to uncover hidden treasures in mysterious dungeons while avoiding deadly traps and monsters. The further you venture into the world of Relencost, the greater the risks and rewards. Enhance player perks like increased health, stamina or reduced fall damage. Upgrade your exploration gear: Complete vertical climbs with the long-range Grapple Pack, expand your inventory with the Mule Pack, or soar through the skies with the Glider Pack. Earn gold through commissions and dungeon loot to acquire new advancements at the game’s supply outpost.
Unpredictable Challenges
Survival is not guaranteed. To safeguard your loot, quick escapes are crucial. Activity within the storm attracts unwanted attention, so you must frequently return to your ship to store your rewards. Various threats haunt the remaining islands of Relencost: including slimes, goblins, automatons and deadly scorpions. But beware—the Stormbeasts lurk in the skies, posing an ever-present threat to your ship’s safety.
Gameplay Features:
Procedurally generated maps, dungeons, and events offer 7 unique interiors and a diverse cast of enemies, ranging from burrowing scorpions to high-flying Stormbeasts.
Voice proximity chat and co-op mode create a thrilling multiplayer experience.
Permanent character progression, combined with the game’s procedurally generated challenges, ensures players will never experience the same challenge twice and can continue building their stats after each run.
Equipment enhancements increase base functions, such as extended range on a grappling hook, reduced stamina consumption on a glider, or a large radius light to guide your way through the dark.
Skyward Extraction’s Early Access launch promises a thrilling cooperative experience, with additional features–such as mini-quests and open exploration environments–planned for the game’s full launch.
