STYNGR :

Santa Monica, CA, (27, November 2024) - STYNGR, the only fully licensed major label partner for music in games, has partnered with Moonsworth - developers of Lunar Client, the number one free all-in-one Minecraft mod pack - to bring fully licensed music from major labels into Minecraft for the first time on PC and console.*

Exclusively with  Lunar Client, players can choose from a series of regularly updated in-game radio stations and hear tracks from major labels. The service is currently live, and users simply have to purchase a Lunar FM Premium subscription to access all the radio stations with ad-free listening, unlimited skips, and an exclusive in-game headset cosmetic that displays music notes when equipped.

By Q2 2025, Lunar Client will also offer an ad-funded version of the radio - allowing all users to listen for free.

The in-game radio will be exclusive to Lunar Client’s single-player and multiplayer servers, with group listening and music emotes made available in 2025, opening up the potential for artists to host listening parties for new music releases in Minecraft through creator-made experiences.

Through this partnership, music will be natively integrated into Lunar Client and, by extension, Minecraft – a feature that has not been available before. Artists will also benefit from a revenue share on every subscription purchased within Lunar Client.

Alex Tarrand, COO and co-founder of STYNGR, says: “We know the power that licensed music brings to a game. It makes the user experience stronger and can materially move engagement and retention. Whether it’s the infectious soundtrack of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater or the atmospheric power in Fallout, licensed music elevates the gameplay experience. STYNGR’s exclusive partnership with Lunar is seamlessly bringing today’s top artists and major labels to Minecraft gamers.”

Matheus Fonseca, CEO of Moonsworth, says: “Lunar Client is thrilled to help lower the barriers to getting amazing music and give creators the opportunity to include recognisable, poignant, and powerful tracks in their experiences. Minecraft allows players to create their own world and stories, which makes it a perfect title to incorporate music that matches the tone of the player experience.”

This partnership with Lunar Client is the latest step in STYNGR's mission to reduce barriers to licensed music integration in video games. Alongside STYNGR’s recent launch of Soundboard on Roblox, the company is providing new ways for players and developers to access licensed tracks in some of the world’s biggest video games.
