Demo where you play the demo at an indie game festival and meet the "developer." The Demoception of game demos.
The Ocean Will Have Us All by MarsUnderground
After 2 and half years of work Moloch Media have released their demo of "The Ocean Will Have Us All." The Ocean Will Have Us All is a first person exploration game. Experience a day in the subatomic life of Moira Leech. Get up, go to work, go back to sleep. Or don't. What could you do in a day? Fall off the beaten path. Meet new people. Stop traffic. Stick your finger in an electrical socket. No-clip out of reality entirely.
What experiences lurk around every corner? A game where it’s not about the journey, it’s about the easter eggs you collect on the way. A neutopian mysterium adventure game with over 20 endings to discover! THE LOOK Low polygon, low resolution textures with grainy messy outlines. THE SOUND Classic digital chiptune sounds processed through old analogue tape decks. THE WORLD An absurd mirror world reflection of our own apocalyptic timeline. The player is constantly caught off guard as the game humorously inverts and warps traditional videogame tropes. SO HOW DOES IT PLAY? The game is structured so that a clear path of objectives is presented to the player. Following these objectives would take you through a fairly uneventful day. Moira wakes us, buys milk for her cat, goes to work, gets lunch, attends a work meeting, goes home, watches TV, goes back to bed. It is by ignoring these objectives and exploring the first person world space that the player finds all the different endings. The player’s progress in uncovering all the endings and paths is recorded on a chart. They can resume the game from any pathway they have found. THE DEMO You're at an indie game convention and you're talking to the main character (Moira) and she's showing you this game she's made about her life. And that game is "The Ocean Will Have Us All." You talk with her, she shows you some scenes from the game. That's the demo, that's it really. Also you can potentially destroy reality.
