After a triumphant debut in The Sandbox with the release of his first ever 10,000-NFT “Doggies” collection on Feb 22, 2022, Snoop Dogg is now about to leave another major footprint in the metaverse. The Doggies will be playable as avatars in The Sandbox starting March 16.
Owners of the Doggies NFTs will be able to play as their unique Snoop Dogg character throughout The Sandbox’s Alpha Season 2, starting of course with Snoop’s very own experience, “Snoop Dogg’s Foreplay”.
The experience will allow all players to visit Snoop Dogg’s virtual mansion and interact with characters from his universe, taking on challenges and solving puzzles along the way.
It is the first time custom NFTs are playable in The Sandbox, a step further into integrating brands and IPs in the metaverse in new and innovative ways. Through the ability to use NFTs as avatars, The Sandbox allows IPs and brands to transcend their traditional media and experiential offerings and engage with their audiences in brand new ways.
This new feature demonstrates the kind of value-add NFTs can provide, and creates another use case for this technology, paving the way for more interoperability among the different LANDs within The Sandbox and beyond.
