UFO-Man, A Simple yet Challenging Foddian 2D Action Game, Releases 25th October 2024 on Steam and iOS; Free Demo Now Available

Game developer Dyglone announced today that the new 2D Foddian action game "UFO-Man" will be released on 25th October 2024. The supported platforms will be Steam (Windows and macOS) and iOS/iPadOS.

 

The demo is now available for download on Steam for both Windows and MacOS.

 

Game Features

UFO-Man is a simple yet challenging Foddian 2D action game, combining elements from Japanese "Iraira-bou (イライラ棒)" games and notoriously difficult Foddian titles like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Only Up!.

In UFO-Man, your goal is to lift a square "Luggage" with your UFO and carry it to the top. The UFO easily drops the Luggage if it hits walls, obstacles, or the Luggage itself. If you drop it, you may lose hours of progress, forcing you to start climbing again from where it fell. The game challenges you to carefully navigate the Luggage while accounting for physics, requiring both patience and boldness to steadily progress toward the goal. Players will enjoy the unique satisfaction of overcoming obstacles typical of Foddian games, along with the competitive nature of the score attack mechanics, which encourage replayability.

The full release will feature a massive course divided into various stages, each packed with unique challenges, including caves, sunsets, mysterious factories, cities, and outer space. Even after completing the game, players can enjoy additional content, such as hidden elements and a "Practice Mode" tailored for speedrunners and achievement hunters. A notable feature of the game is the "Crash Count," which tracks how many times the UFO collides with obstacles or the Luggage, allowing players to challenge themselves to complete the course with as few crashes as possible.

The free demo, released on 21st August, gives players a taste of the game's initial stage. The level design and controls are identical to those of the full version.
