Despite a few technical challenges in the build-up to the event, Ruckus Media hosted their second Ultimate Fite Nite event – UFN 2 – at the Play PS store in Hatfield, Pretoria on Saturday 26 February. The event witnessed six of Gauteng's best Street Fighter gamers, battle it out for the GAURANTEED R5,000 Prize Pool.

An initial elimination round saw Billy D, Vinpetrolium and Sekwele secure their places in the semi-final round following on “Best of 5” wins over Heart, Ren and Sly. The first round losers were then afforded the opportunity to fill the last semi-final place in a 3-way elimination battle (Best of 3) which saw Sly – who had suffered an initial 3-0 “shut-out” at the hands of Vinpetrolium – prevail over both Ren and Heart to secure his place in the semi-finals.

The draw for the semi-finals made for interesting viewing as Illusion Gaming team-mates Vinpetrolium and Sekwele needed to battle it out for a place in the final, while Billy D faced off against elimination winner, Sly.

Despite some very close battles, it was the clutch-play from both Vinpetrolium and Billy D which saw them inflict 3-0 “shut-outs” over Sekwele and Sly respectively.

The final – as all finals should - delivered the tightest game-play seen all tournament with the eventual winner being decided with the very last combo of the fifth and final game of the event. Billy D defeating Vinpetrolium 3-2 to become our first winner for 2022.
