Wrocław, January 14th - Whitemoon Games, the studio behind Broken Ranks, has given players another big content update. The update is entitled “Hvar’s Wastelands” and it is, of course, absolutely free and introduces, among others, a new zone and a completely new boss that players will be able to face.
Here’s what’s new in the update:
new, fiery area - Hvar’s Wastelands
new opponents, including champions and an elite
new activities - tasks, a dynamic event, and a daily quest
a new instance with Hvar as the main boss
new rare gear
new boss-specific quest
And, in addition to the above, a two-layered world map that will allow you to switch to a separate Thalia map. Thalia is a zone introduced with the Shadow of Hope expansion.
The creators of Broken Ranks have informed that the content of Hvar’s Wastelands is meant for players level 90 or above. It’s also worth noting that the boss instance has two difficulty levels: Adventure (suggested levels: 90-130) and Challenge (suggested levels 120-140). What else? Those preferring solo play should be particularly happy because this instance is meant specifically for them.
After taking the new quest (Shadow of the Flame), players will learn the story of Vendar, a master smith who lost everything he held dear because of a tragic incident. However, Hvar couldn’t let such a talented man lose himself in grief. He bestowed the smith with a special gift which gave his life a new meaning. Alas, we’ll quickly realize that everything has a price…

Broken Ranks is the successor to the MMORPG The Pride of Taern. It boasts a unique, turn-based combat system and a grim, low-fantasy world seen from an isometric view. The title is reminiscent of such classics as the HoM&M series or Baldur's Gate. Adventurers will be able to find a lot of story-driven quests and a vast, interesting world ready to be explored alone, in a group, or with guildmates.
Broken Ranks is available on PCs through a client.
