Austin, Texas, July 26, 2024 -- POMDP, Inc. today announced the availability of a new music trivia and word puzzle game. It is two games in one, combining a music trivia puzzle game and a dictionary-based word game. It is now available in both Apple and Google app stores from the game's home page at https://wordsacrossamerica.com/. The game was conceived, designed and developed by a family-based company (wife, husband and daughter) with a focus and commitment to protect people's privacy. This is their second game title and first mobile app. The game uses no third party tracking, emails are always opt-in and they are committed to not sharing any data with third party companies.
Words Across America™ combines solving puzzles appearing on license plates. In the music category, the solutions are song titles, while in the dictionary category, answers are dictionary words. The music category allows players to choose a decade to help match the puzzles to what music they know best. The game has a travel theme with goals of visiting all the states int he U.S. and its famous locations. Players earn awards and badges as they progress with leader boards to see how their skills stack up against others. It provides entertainment for all ages and skills since it has a simple set of rules that makes it easy to learn, but there are many variations which make it hard to master.
The family behind Words Across America™ talks about how the game was developed:
"Though our first game attracted a few thousand players, we learned a lot about what limited it having broader appeal. We consolidated the best ideas from our first game, then expanded it by adding a new music category which we are very excited about. We also learned that not having a mobile app added a lot of friction so gathered the expertise needed to ensure this new game would be more accessible."
This is the family's first attempt at creating a mobile app game, but they say that is has been exciting, educational and rewarding to have expand their range of knowledge.
