Nvidia announced today that it will work with Valve to create a version of Portal specifically for the Shield, Nvidia's handheld Android-powered game console. Nvidia is doing the port work itself, though it is being done "with Valve's blessing" according to a report from The Verge. “Nvidia has created a very powerful and unique device with Shield,” Valve's Doug Lombardi stated in an Nvidia blog post confirming the news, which was announced today during Nvidia's annual GPU Technology Conference in San Jose. “Our companies have a strong history working together and we’re looking forward to Portal's arrival on Shield." No further details have yet been announced about Portal for Android, other than that it will be exclusively available for a period of time on devices -- like the Shield -- that incorporate Nvidia's Tegra mobile GPU technology.
