Halo developer 343 Industries will be opening a public stats API for Halo 5: Guardians to help developers build new websites, apps, and communities.

More specifically, the Halo API will give creators access to the service records of individual players, match histories, and a complete statistical breakdown of specific performances in the form of carnage reports.

The API program is in private beta at the moment, although 343 have promised public access will be ready to launch at "around the same time frame" that Halo 5 hits shelves.

"Here on Halo Waypoint and Halo Channel, we’ll support a fully-featured stats experience for Halo 5, but giving the community the ability to compile stats will allow developers to craft their own statistical story and experiences," said the studio.

"We can't wait to see what you develop and share with the Halo community later this year and beyond."
