Namco Bandai's producer on the upcoming and anticipated roleplaying game tells Gamasutra in a new feature interview that development of the game was an eye-opening experience for him. "It's really nothing like we pictured it at the start. There were concepts that went unimplemented because, especially with the online component, you can't really tell how some of it works until it's actually in motion," Hirono told Gamasutra. "It was really a difficult project because it kept on changing and evolving as we were developing it. A lot got attached to it, so it's really a much greater project than we first conceived. I'm just glad it all came together." Hirono credits the game's director, From Software's Hidetaka Miyazaki, for smooth production of the game despite any challenges. "He thinks on an incredibly deep level on any word you give him; deep and wide. The way he thinks everything through in the midst of what should and shouldn't be included in the game is impressive in motion," said Hirono. Of his experience producing the game, Hirono told Gamasutra, "I do feel like I know more about games now and that we've made a pretty big leap into the overseas market. It's been a fresh experience, and I hope I can do more." The full interview, in which he further discusses the game, his collaboration with Miyazaki, and his plans for the future, is live now on Gamasutra.
