Newsbrief: Valve and HTC's Vive virtual reality headset won't be hitting shelves in 2015 as previously thought, with the duo revealing they will instead be shipping the device in Q1 2016.

In a press release detailing the firm's PAX Prime plans, Valve explained that "HTC will offer the first commercial Vive units via a limited quantity of community and developer systems" later this year, "with larger quantities shipping in calendar Q1 2016."

By pushing the Vive's launch window back, the Vive's release will now be closer to the launches of the competing Project Morpheus from Sony, and the Oculus Rift, which are both due to hit shelves in the first half of 2016.
