To make a sweeping generalization, the PlayStation 4 is generally regarded as more capable, and often has been the home to better-performing versions of multiplatform titles. However, Shishkovstov says it isn't that simple -- and notes that Microsoft's SDKs have been improving by leaps and bounds. He tackles topics like the console's ESRAM -- "in practice I've seen only a few cases where it becomes a limiting factor" -- and what impact the return of GPU power that was once reserved for the Kinect has on system performance.
