Game Programmer, Goblinworks

Location: Redmond, WA Goblinworks is the exciting fast-paced developer of Pathfinder Online - a fantasy sandbox MMO based on the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game from Paizo Publishing. We believe the future of online games is in player interaction, not sterile pre-scripted stories. We are starting a player-centric game company that is built to last. We are seeking rock star programmers who want to work in one of the toughest game disciplines i MMO development. We can teach you the ropes of MMO development, but you must come with strong programming chops. We are a modern development studio using automated testing and agile development. We have a focus on creating solid, reliable systems that will be expanded on for years to come. MMO projects have a much longer time horizon than other game projects and strong engineering is a must. Applicants must demonstrate - Experience developing projects of moderate size with other programmers. - Knowledge of memory and CPU performance constraints including practical experience. - High degree of experience with either C++ or C#. - Ability to clearly communicate technical design alternatives including pros and cons. Ideal candidates would have one or more - Prior MMO development experience. - Prior experience with Unity 3D. - Prior game development experience. Perks - Substantial stock options: We are a small studio and want to make sure everyone has a stake in the company. - Make a large contribution to the product: On a small team, you will own a significant feature set. - Medical, dental, eye, etc: Of course. We are based in Redmond, just east of Seattle. Programmers will work closely with designers and artists and must be willing to relocate to the Seattle area.
