Perforce Software has announced the release of the latest cross-platform graphical interface, the Perforce Visual Client, for the company's Fast Software Configuration Management (SCM) System, adding visualization of source code evolution as well as improved look and feel for Linux and Mac clients. Perforce's SCM System tracks and manages source code, documents, and digital asset development for software production environments. The latest release of its Visual Client includes features like better visualization of branch and integration history with the Revision Graph tool. The visualization of file history has also been enhanced with a Time-lapse View tool, and the Perforce Visual Merge Tool gives users better visualization of the difference between file versions. Said Fred Malouf, manager of the Visual Client development team, “The heart of our technology is the Perforce Server and our front-end clients really showcase its power. Upgrading to Trolltech’s Qt 4 has given us the opportunity to streamline our architecture as well as improve our look and feel.”
