Ghost Trick, Rayman: Origins, More Nominated In 39th Annual Annie Awards

The International Animated Film Society has revealed the finalists for its latest Best Animated Video Game Award, with nominees including Capcom's Ghost Trick, Epic's Gears of War 3, Ubisoft's Rayman: Origins, and more.

The International Animated Film Society has revealed the finalists for its latest Best Animated Video Game Award, with nominees including Capcom's Ghost Trick, Epic's Gears of War 3, Ubisoft's Rayman: Origins, and more. The award will be featured at the 39th annual Annie Awards, which honors achievements in animation across a growing range of media, from Hollywood, to television, to video games. The Best Animated Video Game Award was first given to Treyarch's Ultimate Spider-Man in 2005, and has since been awarded to titles such as D3 Publisher's Flushed Away, THQ's Ratatouille, Activision's Kung-Fu Panda, and Playdead's Limbo. The following are the finalists for this year's Best Animated Video Game award: - Bumpy Road - Simogo - Catherine - Atlus - Gears of War 3 - Epic Games - Gesundheit - Konami Digital Entertainment - Ghost Trick: “Phantom Detective” - Capcom - Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet - Shadow Planet Productions, Gagne/Fuelcell - Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One - Insomniac Games - Rayman Origins - Ubisoft Montpellier - Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - Naughty Dog These finalists were chosen by a committee of animation professionals appointed by the board of directors of the International Animated Film Society (also known as ASIFA-Hollywood), the organizing body behind the Annie Awards. Animation professionals belonging to ASIFA-Hollywood will choose the winner via collective vote, and the award recipient will be revealed at the 39th annual Annie Awards, to be held February 4, 2012 in Los Angeles.
