Officials from UK based publisher and developer Codemasters have announced a new “strategic partnership" to share knowledge and technology with Realtime Technology (RTT), a 3D real-time rendering and visualization company working in the automotive and aviation industry. RTT specializes in supporting the automotive, aviation and consumer goods industries with high-end visualization technology and services. The company’s clients include Adidas, Airbus, Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Dodge, EADS, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche, Sony Ericsson and Volvo. The company’s work involves virtual displays during product prototyping and involvement in marketing and sales. As a part of the new partnership Codemasters and RTT will share expertise in automobile modeling, rendering and realization projects. This includes the RTT DeltaGen and RealTrace tools that enable car designers to render CAD models in real-time and Codemasters’ EGO game technology engine. The EGO engine has already used in ColinMcRae: DiRT and will also be used in the upcoming Race Driver: GRID. Additionally, the same engine will be used in the internally developed Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising. “Both companies share common goals, including a passion for technology excellence and attention to detail and quality,” said Bryan Marshall, chief technical officer at Codemasters. “These goals are demonstrated equally in such executions as the beauty of realtime ray-traced light clusters in RTT’s DeltaGen software and the mesmerizing race action and environmental detail in our own Race Driver: GRID. Any collaboration with RTT that delivers advantageous results for our development pipeline will be immensely valuable,” he added. “We are really happy to enter this partnership with Codemasters”, said Ludwig A. Fuchs, co-founder and member of the RTT management board. “The cooperation is of mutual interest and benefit. Together we can utilize synergies and push forward the boundaries of the 3D real-time visualization market.”
