Newsbrief: OC3 Entertainment has combined its FaceFX facial animation technology with Rocketbox's Complete Characters HD, allowing developers to generate animated dialogue sequences with stock 3D models. The two companies say this solution makes it affordable and easy to create animated dialogue sequences, as it's designed to enable developers to begin working with 3D characters pre-rigged for facial animation quickly. It's also available for free to OC3 and Rocketbox's mutual clients. FaceFX can be used to animate characters by hand, as well as to generate lip-synchronization and speech gesture data automatically from audio files. Rocketbox's Complete Characters HD is an animated model library featuring assets that can be dropped into games, simulations, and virtual worlds. The companies will demonstrate FaceFX with Complete Characters HD at the Game Developers Conference at their booths (OC3: booths #716, Rocketbox: #1604-N).
