Graphics software developer Spiral Graphics announced the public beta launch for Genetica 3, the newest update for the company's flagship texture, HDRI, and animation editor. Genetica 3's new features include vector drawing tools, editable visual styles that can be applied to designs, HDRI environment map editing, a new lighting model, new nodes and effects, and an expanded library of royalty-free texture presets. Testers will be downloading the Studio edition of Genetica, which also provides animation capabilities for the creation of texture and effect animations. The open beta period marks the final testing phase before Spiral Graphics' scheduled release for Genetica 3 in October 2008.
