Montreal-based video game voiceover company Game On Audio (previously Point d’orgue) and several Canadian government partners are investing a total of nearly $2 million into the company, which will go toward growing the audio firm's operations. The $2 million investment is comprised of funds Game On Audio and Investissement Quebec, as well as loans from the Business Development Bank of Canada and Centre-du-Quebec's Regional Economic Intervention Fund. Game On Audio expects to launch its new Montreal studio facility at the beginning of this month, and intends to expand to Los Angeles in September of this year. Founded eight years ago, the company also has a network of partner studios in New York, Paris, Toronto, and Vancouver. The firm's services include "voice recording, voice casting, voice direction, facial motion capture, script translation, localization, in-game mixing, and post-production". It's contributed to more than 100 titles from 15 different studios, including Electronic Arts' Army of Two games and Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed franchises. "In just eight years Game On Audio has gone from one of the first video game sound specialists in Montreal to now a worldwide audio production provider with partner studios around the world," said Samuel Girardin, Game On Audio’s CEO. “It’s tremendous to add prestigious partners like BDC, Investissement Quebec and FIER. Girardin continues, "Their vital financial support will allow us to expand our new Montreal studios venue, to develop our proprietary audio post-production workflow technologies, and to continue to pursue international business development opportunities."
