GDC Europe 2016 calls for Innovative Games Showcase submissions

<a href="http://www.gdceurope.com">GDC Europe 2016</a> organizers have opened <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1RzHbFKdMzWg1tBTwa-VpCxnisLURlc5KPVmqNk4Y9kw/viewform">call for submissions</a> to the third annual European Innovative Games Showcase at the Cologne, Germany show this August.

Game Developers Conference Europe 2016 organizers are excited to once again open a special call for European indie game developers to submit to the third annual European Innovative Games Showcase.

Taking place during the Independent Games Summit at the Cologne, Germany show this August, the winning creators will be offered 5-minute microtalks at the final session of GDC Europe's IGS, showcasing what's special about their current project.

For an idea of what we're talking about, check out the videos of of last year's EIGS showcase & the inaugural 2014 event via YouTube and GDC Vault - some of the outstanding independent games previously highlighted include Gang Beasts, Beyond Eyes, Future Unfolding, Fabulous Beasts & more.

The dealine for submissions is Monday June 6th at 23:59 GMT

Anyone who successfully submits will also be given full Speaker Passes to the event (including full access to every GDC Europe session and access to the massive Gamescom trade/public event) if selected. In addition, detailed video of the event will once again be showcased on Gamasutra and GDC Vault for free after the event.

Co-ordinating and MC-ing the showcase and helping pick the winners will be game designers Lea Schönfelder and Jonatan Van Hove, working alongside a number of other judges to be confirmed in the near future.

Overall, the showcase will be curated to include a wide variety of innovative or experimental games, including diverse and new ways to showcase gameplay, art style, play style or anything in between. Organizers are looking specifically for European-resident creators to showcase in this local show. Entries are open until June 6th.

Early birds can still register for GDC Europe 2016 by July 20th to save up to 200 euros on an All Access Pass. The conference itself will take place August 15th and 16th at the Cologne Congress-Centrum Ost venue in Cologne, Germany.

GDC Europe 2016 will also continue to offer business and matchmaking opportunities to all attendees with a developer-focused Expo Floor area and networking events throughout the show. For more information, please visit the GDC Europe website.
