First orchestral game arrangements announced for Tokyo concert in September.
The official webpage for Tokyo’s 2010 Press Start Symphony of Games concert has been updated with the first new information on this year's set list. The lineup for the September music event, sponsored by Famitsu Magazine, will be revealed in incremental updates over the coming months. So far four medleys have been announced: Chrono Trigger/ Chrono Cross, Famicom (NES), Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Mother (Earthbound).
Press Start features performances by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, both from recently released and classic titles. A panel of game developers founded the concert series and decides which selections to choose for each event. They include conductor Taizo Takemoto, Masahiro Sakurai (Smash Bros. director), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy composer), Kazushige Nojima (Kingdom Hearts scenarist), and Shogo Sakai (Mother 3 composer).
