RAD Game Tools has announced Miles Sound System 9.0, an update to its popular audio toolset that adds a new "hot load" feature to allow asset editing in real-time. According to a statement, developers "can pause the game, edit the soundscape and resume with updated assets and without waiting for the programmer to iterate." "The Miles Sound System has always been a top-of-the-class, robust audio solution," said Doubletap Games president Richard Corredera in a statement. “Now, with the new high-level tools, it’s one of the best solutions available, hands down." According to RAD, the Miles Sound System has been used by over 5,000 games since its debut twenty years ago. Miles Sound System 9.0 is available now, and will be available for demonstrations at October's GDC Online in Austin.
