Sony Online Entertainment's DC Universe Online on PlayStation 3 will be powered by Vivox voice chat, making it what Vivox says is the first integration of "3D" voice chat within a PS3 game. Vivox says it's optimized its Voice functionality to leverage specific PS3 features, and that it's prepared to support "millions of players" with high-definition voice chat. DC Universe Online also launched on PC. The MMO is set in the DC comics universe, allowing players to create their own superheroes and fight with characters including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Vivox enables players to chat amongst themselves with their experiences adjusted based on factors like location, distance and direction. Vivox claims a total 45 million users in more than 180 countries who use its service to exchange more than 3 billion minutes of voice monthly. In addition to SOE, its partners currently include CCP Games, Nexon, Linden Lab and more.
