The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Family and friends set up The Jory Prum Scholarship for Sounds that Redefine Normal to honor the memory of the acclaimed video game audio engineer and sound designer.
Family and friends have come together to create a scholarship honoring the late sound designer Jory Prum. The scholarship aims to continue his legacy of creating emotionally provoking music and sound design for both video games and film.
The Jory Prum Scholarship for Sounds that Redefine Normal has been set up at the California Institue of the Arts Schools of Music and Film/Video, where Prum studied before beginning a 20 year long career in film and video games.
Prum’s prolific resume includes work on a multitude of Star Wars: Episode I games during his early days at LucasArts, before leaving to start his own recording studio where he worked on games like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic, Through the Woods, Broken Age, Grim Fandango Remastered, and more.
During his 20 year career Prum contributed to over 130 video games and several movies.
Prum passed away unexpectidely earlier this year, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. The $50,000 scholarship fund is composed of donations from a GoFundMe set up after his accident and contributions from his family.
“Jory entered the Institute with a passion for music, art, and technology. It was there that he was surrounded by imaginative, divergent thinkers, who like himself, were designing their own paths through life," said Leslye Prum. "He was determined to create art that combined them all and became an out-of-the-box catalyst who inspired collaboration between other artists and disciplines.”
