APB: Reloaded publisher merges into Reloaded Games

Following a management shakeup at Irvine, CA-headquartered GamersFirst parent K2 Network earlier this year, the company has now merged with its subsidiary company Reloaded Productions and retired the K2 name. K2 was founded in 2001 with a focus on free-to-play MMOs. Most recently it published games like APB: Reloaded and Fallen Earth through its GamersFirst publishing portal. The company today said that it has merged with Reloaded, and the business will simply be known as Reloaded Games going into the future, as it believes that the Reloaded name is more distinctive. The GamersFirst game platform and portal will now be operated under the Reloaded Games moniker, while the Reloaded Productions studio will act as a subsidiary of Reloaded Games. K2 CEO Bjorn Book-Larsson is the new CEO of Reloaded Games, while Frank Cartwright and Rahul Sandil have been made COO and CMO respectively. The merger was funded in part by private investment company Arkenstone Investment. Book-Larsson described the move as "the beginning of a new era for the company," noting that Reloaded Productions will continue to develop Unity 3D and Unreal 3 game titles, while Reloaded Games will further expand the horizons of its GamersFirst platform.
