Newsbrief: THQ revealed today that it has delayed the Vigil Games-developed Darksiders II, with the game now set for an August release on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. The game was originally penned in for a June release. A blog post on the official Darksiders website states that the action game has been delayed for a couple of months so that Vigil Games can add polish, while denying that the delay has anything to do with the upcoming launch of Nintendo's Wii U console (a platform that Darksiders II will be released for), or anything to do with the recent layoffs at the company. The delay counters the news earlier today that THQ is expecting to exceed its previous financial expectations for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, thanks to "higher-than-expected" sales of Saints Row: The Third and UFC Undisputed 3.
