Newsbrief: Japanese shmup publisher Cave announced today that it will be shutting down its English Twitter feed and blog on February 28. After that, anyone looking for further announcements from the company must look to its Japanese website and Twitter account (@cavegames). While it's sad to see Cave retreating from its audience of dedicated fans in the West, it's not terribly surprising -- the English Cave Twitter account was updated all of twelve times in 2013, and the publisher's English blog had been silent since 2011. Cave became infamous for producing fiendishly difficult "bullet hell" scrolling shooters for both arcades and home consoles, but stepped away from console shmups to focus on making mobile games in 2010.
